To create the awareness among the youth people and their community on climate change, Educo Bangladesh has developed a climate change handbook ‘এক জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন যোদ্ধা – আসমা’ that was launched on 1st Feb’22, at Educo country office. Kazi Abdul Kadir, Manager-Disaster Risk Management, Climate Change & Emergency Response introduced the book to all explaining the contents of the book and expected changes by this book. Abdul Hamid – Country Director, Farzana Khan – Director of Programs, Md. Nizamuddin – Director, Program Support along with other Educo employees were present in the inauguration ceremony.

The main feature of the book is presenting a female climate activist ‘Asma’ who is creating awareness of the school students and community people providing the information of climate change, future effect on children, adolescent, and community people. She motivates others and shares idea of tree plantation, disaster sensitive housing, rainwater harvesting, floating garden, mulching garden, as well as collective action of the youth. Total 3,600 books were distributed at the climate vulnerable regions of Bangladesh – Barisal, Shariatpur & Barguna districts by our local partners NSS, SAINT-BD and SDS to create awareness among children, adolescents and youth and teachers.
